Carole has been a full-time, licensed Realtor since spring of 1988 serving Central Virginia selling properties located in counties surrounding Charlottesville.  She grew up in Afton, Nelson County, loving nature and animals.  Graduated from Nelson County High School with honors and accepted at UVA in the School of Nursing but fate changed that course and due to health reasons attended and graduated from Dunsmore Business School, Staunton, VA.  She worked many years in the banking profession, as well as manager of the Personnel Department of Continental Telephone Company, Amherst and worked in the Engineering Department of the Central Virginia  Electric Co-Op., Lovingston, VA.  She is married to Larry D. Saunders, Contractor, and assisted him in the contracting business until she entered real estate.  Together they have owned and operated Nel-Co Oil Company Arrington, co-owner of the Nellysford Shopping Centre and owned and operated the Valley IGA, a 6000 sq. ft. grocery store in the Centre.  She and her husband own three farms in the Arrington area, raising and proud of their Herferd cattle, nine donkeys and Ginger, their 29 yr. old Arabian mare.  They have been blessed with two daughters, Lori and Cindy, and six grandchildren. 

Carole has served in many different capacities with volunteer organizations over the years.  She has been an active member of the Nelson United Methodist Church, Arrington 42 years and has served in many areas.  She is presently a volunteer with CASA, Court Appointed Advocate for Abused Children, in the counties of Nelson and Amherst.
